Leyland Chess Club will again run a six-round congress over the bank holiday weekend. Dave Clayton is organising it and I (Bob Tinton) am taking the entries.

The competition will be at Wellfield Business and Enterprise College, Yewlands Drive, Leyland, (PR25 2TP for those with sat-nav). Rounds start at 09.30 and 14.00.

There will be three sections: a FIDE-rated Open section, an under-160 grade section and an under-120 grade section. To play in the Open section you must be an ECF member (if you are English) or a member of another FIDE-registered association.

Each section has prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions and two grading prizes. There are also trophies (to hold for one year) for the highest-scoring junior and highest-scoring Chorley resident (both, in any section).

Entry forms can be downloaded from the ECF website, calendar section, or I can email one to you if you email me through the "congress" link on the new Leyland club website (www.leylandchess.org.uk)
