Luke Boumphrey |
Rhyl Congress
2005
1st June 2005
-
Congratulations to Atticus player Luke Boumphrey, outright winner of the
Rhyl Major Championship 2005 and first prize of £120. The event, a five
round swiss, held at the Town Hall over the weekend of 20th - 22nd May
is one of the toughest Major's to win. This is a deserved result for
Luke who, as usual, prepared extremely well for his encounters. See two
of his
games from the event including an excellent win in 16 moves. Luke
also competed very successfully at the
Blackpool Chess Conference, Challengers
(U175), 11-13 March 2005 winning both a share of 3rd place with
a score of 4 out of 5, and for good measure, the £50 grading prize! More
details. |
